David is the Managing Parner and Partner in charge of Joelson Wilson's Licensing / Gaming team.

He advises exclusively in the area of alcohol, regulated entertainment, betting, gaming, lotteries, and late night refreshment licensing for clients including leaders in the pub, hotel, restaurant, nightclub, music festivals, casino, bingo, gaming machine, betting and remote gambling fields.

David also advises industry trade organisations and appears as an advocate in magistrates and crown courts and before local authorities nationwide.

He is the Legal Expert for the Publican newspaper and also writes a regular column for Betting Business. He is a contributing editor of Smith & Monkcom's Law of Betting, Gaming & Lotteries (3rd edition), Halsbury’s Laws of England: Betting, Gaming and Lotteries and Kolvin's Licensed Premises – Law and Practice.

David frequently chairs, and speaks at, seminars and conferences. He is named as a leading expert in the field of Licensing: Betting and Gaming in both The Legal 500, Chambers and Partners directories, where he has been described as "hugely knowledgeable and skilled - a genuine expert in the field"
